Accra, June 22, GNA \u2013 The African Chamber of Content Producers (ACCP) has officially endorsed the Somali Content Creators & Digital Economy Conference (SOCCDEC) 2026, marking a significant step towards strengthening collaboration between creative economies across the continent.<\/p>\n

The endorsement follows a formal invitation extended to the ACCP by the SOCCDEC Organising Committee, which recognised the Chamber\u2019s leadership in advancing Africa\u2019s digital creator industry.<\/p>\n

SOCCDEC is a leading platform designed to bring together content creators, media professionals, digital innovators, creative entrepreneurs, policymakers, technology leaders, and young talents to shape the future of the digital economy and creative industries in Somalia and across Africa.<\/p>\n

In its formal response, the ACCP confirmed its support for the initiative, commending the vision of the conference organisers and expressing alignment with their objectives of empowering content creators, fostering digital innovation, and strengthening Africa\u2019s creative industries through collaboration and knowledge exchange.<\/p>\n

The endorsement includes an official letter of recognition from the ACCP and a video message from one of the Chamber\u2019s most distinguished Africa Image Ambassadors, Mr. Mawuko Kuadzi.<\/p>\n

Mawuko Kuadzi, a Ghanaian casting director who holds the distinction of being the first African to win the Artios Award in its 40-year history, also serves as the highest-ranked Africa Image Ambassador in the Media and Culture sector (Sectoral Content Fellow) and CEO of the Africa Monologue Challenge.<\/p>\n

He is a member of the Casting Society of America(CSA) and the International Casting Directors Association (ICDA).<\/p>\n

In his message, Mawuko Kuadzi encouraged Somali creators to seize the opportunities presented by the growing African creative economy, emphasising the importance of cross-border collaboration and the monetisation of African content for continental audiences.<\/p>\n

Mr. Fowzi Jamal Barrow, Head of the SOCCDEC Organising Committee, expressed profound gratitude for the Chamber\u2019s support. \u201cYour endorsement carries significant value for our efforts to build a vibrant and sustainable creative and digital economy ecosystem in Somalia,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are particularly encouraged by ACCP\u2019s alignment with our vision of empowering content creators, fostering digital innovation, and strengthening Africa\u2019s creative industries through collaboration and knowledge exchange.\u201d<\/p>\n

Beyond the immediate endorsement, both organisations have expressed interest in exploring a broader strategic partnership.
The two organizations are currently discussing future collaboration in advancing content creation, digital innovation, talent development, and creative economy initiatives across Africa.<\/p>\n

Commenting on the development, ACCP Chairman for Culture and Media Sector, Mr. Roger Quartey, said the Chamber plans to use the creative economy to promote intra-African trade and tourism, with human connection serving as a key driver of regional integration.<\/p>\n

The ACCP, together with its partners, has been at the forefront of efforts to harness Africa\u2019s creative economy as a powerful tool for shaping the continent\u2019s narratives and promoting a new brand of Africa, one defined by innovation, cultural pride, and economic progress.<\/p>\n

Through strategic engagements with content creators, institutions, and governments across the continent, the Chamber is advancing a vision where African stories are told by Africans, for Africans, and for the world.
The official engagement with Somali content creators through SOCCDEC is one of many initiatives the ACCP has undertaken in advancing this vision for Africa and its people.<\/p>\n

The ACCP\u2019s endorsement of SOCCDEC underscores its commitment to promoting local content sovereignty and fostering the growth of Africa\u2019s creative and digital economy across all twelve content sectors, including media, technology, education, and industrial content.<\/p>\n
