Winneba (C\/R), June 19, GNA \u2013 The Deeper Christian Life Ministry (DCLM) Ghana has donated two giant LED screens to the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) to support academic work,\u00a0conferences\u00a0and other activities in the school.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

The gesture is in fulfilment of a pledge made by Pastor Dr E. K.\u00a0Tumsiah, the General Overseer of the church, during the university\u2019s inaugural interdenominational thanksgiving service held about a fortnight ago.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Representing\u00a0the National Overseer of the Church, Pastor Yaw\u00a0Osei\u00a0Owusu, Coordinator for the Western-Central Zone, led a delegation of senior pastors and officials from the church\u2019s national headquarters to formally hand over the equipment to the university authorities.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Pastor\u00a0Owusu\u00a0noted that the donation was a practical demonstration of the church\u2019s desire to partner with educational institutions in nurturing future generations into responsible leaders.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

He reaffirmed the ministry\u2019s commitment to supporting institutions that contributed to national development through education, moral formation, and character building.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Receiving the donation on behalf of the university, Prof Stephen Jobson\u00a0Mitchual, Vice Chancellor of UEW, expressed profound appreciation to the leadership and members of the\u00a0church\u00a0 for\u00a0the \u201cexceptional\u201d and \u201cunprecedented\u201d gesture.\u00a0<\/p>\n

He\u00a0indicated\u00a0that the screens would serve not only the Christian community on campus but the entire university population for academic, social, and institutional programmes.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Prof\u00a0Mitchual\u00a0underscored the critical role of faith-based organisations in shaping responsible citizens,\u00a0indicating\u00a0that many of the challenges confronting students in tertiary institutions today stemmed from ethical and moral deficiencies.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cA greater part of the ills associated with the student community generally has to do with ethics, and that is where the church comes in,\u201d he stressed.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Vice-Chancellor also used the occasion to reflect on prevailing public\u00a0perceptions\u00a0about religious organisations and commended the church for\u00a0demonstrating\u00a0practical Christianity through tangible support for society.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cPeople now perceive churches as places where monies are collected, and after collection we do not know how the money is used. But I think this gesture will go a long way to change, to some extent, that\u00a0kind of\u00a0perception,\u201d he remarked.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat you are doing this morning exemplifies the real thing that Christ did when He came onto the earth,\u201d Prof\u00a0Mitchual\u00a0added.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

In addition to the LED screens, the Deeper Christian Life Ministry donated 600 copies of Daily Manna, the\u00a0church\u2019s\u00a0widely circulated daily devotional pamphlets, for distribution among staff members as a resource for personal reflection, spiritual growth, and character development.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

As the ceremony concluded, both university officials and church leaders expressed optimism that the partnership would continue to deepen, creating opportunities for further collaboration in the shared pursuit of academic excellence, ethical leadership, and national transformation.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
