Dreams FC will take on Zamalek SC in the semifinal of the CAF Confederation Cup, after edging Stade Malien 3-2 on aggregate in a resilient quarter-final performance.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Reaching the last four of the CAF Confederation Cup in its debut appearance in Africa means Dreams FC have achieved a great feat, yet a lot is to be played for with a tough test ahead of them in the semifinal of the competition.<\/p>\n

Dreams FC initially booked a slot in the CAF Confederation Cup by winning the FA Cup in Ghana, and a lot has changed since that time as they now have surpassed the expectations set for them by many.<\/p>\n

Dreams FC are now the first Ghanaian side since Hearts and Kotoko (finalists in 2004) to reach this stage of the competition, and the team which secured its first-ever qualification to the Ghana Premier League in 2015 has surely seen themselves improve massively over the last decade.<\/p>\n

Sylvester Simba\u2019s 70th-minute strike cancelled out York Diaby\u2019s opener and secured their ticket to the last four for the Ghanaian side in their second-leg quarter-final with Stade Malien. However, the Ghanaian side did not attain this feat by chance.<\/p>\n

By topping Group B in the group stages of the competition, Dreams FC entrenched themselves as one of the sides to keep close tabs on, and beating Stade Malien in the quarter-final now see Karim Zito\u2019s side as one of the contenders in the competition.<\/p>\n

Going all the way for glory however, remains the biggest question for many.<\/p>\n

Regarded as one of the biggest clubs in Africa, Zamalek on the other hand booked a place to the semi-finals of with a convincing 3-2 win over Egyptian counterparts Future FC.<\/p>\n

With a whopping 79 trophies to their name, Zamalek look the favorites ahead of this encounter, as they have five CAF Champions League Cup wins and a 2018\/2019 Confederations Cup title in the bag.<\/p>\n

Dreams on may not be stacked as much in their trophy cabinet, yet they stand a chance as the old giant is not as great as it once was.<\/p>\n

The first-leg encounter will take place on 28th April, with the second leg expected to be played out at the Helmy Zamora Stadium in Egypt.<\/p>\n
