Afrobeats singer and songrwiter, Olive The Boy has disclosed<\/a> how a bitter relationship led him to compose his new single \u2018Asylum\u2019.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Born Joel Ofori Bonsu, Olive The Boy said the song which was released on March 1 this year had even existed before his hit track \u2018Goodsin.\u2019<\/p>\n

Speaking in an interview with Cookie Tee on TV3, the musician explained that the song was inspired by a broken heart from his ex-girlfriend which happened two years ago.<\/p>\n

The 21-year-old said he was compelled to compose a song about his bitter experience due to his strong affection for the lady whose name he did not reveal.<\/p>\n

\u201cI felt like I need to write a song about it because I was really in love with the girl. Charley, you cannot trust human beings so it was just like a message to the girl and me trying to [console myself].<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve petitioned TGMA for inclusion in EP and Afrobeats artiste of the year categories \u2013 Olive The Boy<\/a><\/p>\n\n

\u201cI lef am, she\u2019s there and I do not know her whereabouts. I do hear from her sometimes and she wants to comeback,\u201d he said on TV3\u2019s New Day, Wednesday, April 3.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere are many fishes in the sea,\u201d the afrobeats singer quickly replied when asked if he would get back together with his ex-girlfriend.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Olive The Boy has raised concerns about his nominations for the upcoming Telecel Ghana Music Awards.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

The \u2018Goodsin\u2019 hitmaker has received three nominations for this year\u2019s TGMA.<\/p>\n

They include; Best new artiste of the year, Most popular song of the year and best Afrobeats song of the year.<\/p>\n\n

He disclosed that his management has presented a petition to the scheme to be considered for the Album\/EP of the year and Best Afrobeats artiste of the year categories.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think there are these two that I feel like I should have been in. The EP\/Album of the year because Goodsin was an EP and Afrobeats artiste of the year. We have actually presented a petition so [ we are on the lookout],\u201d he said on New Day, Wednesday, April 3.<\/p>\n
