A late Jordan Ayew goal gave Ghana an important win over Mali and moved Ghana to second in Group I of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Black Stars had conceded on the brink of halftime after Kamory Doumbia\u2019s effort deflected off his head to give Mali the lead.<\/p>\n

Ernest Nuamah\u2019s header brought Ghana level before Ayew won it in the dying embers of the game.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s the ratings of the Black Stars players:<\/p>\n

Lawrence Ati-Zigi \u2013 7<\/strong>
\nHe made two crucial saves in the opening moments to keep Ghana in the tie. The goalkeeper saw a lot of the ball and his distribution on the night was also fairly impressive.<\/p>\n

Tariq Lamptey \u2013 7.5<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Brighton and Hove Albion right back was electric going forward. He got into very good positions in the right wing-back role and should have had an assist if Antoine Semenyo converted his cross.<\/p>\n

Alidu Seidu \u2013 7<\/strong><\/p>\n

He was very aggressive in his pressing and made some good interceptions. His passing on the night could have been better.<\/p>\n

Alexander Djiku \u2013 7.5<\/strong><\/p>\n

He found answers to everything thrown at him and was a leader at the back. Time and time again, he displayed good awareness to sense danger and clear it.<\/p>\n

Mohammed Salisu \u2013 6.5<\/strong><\/p>\n

Despite playing a few wayward passes, the Monaco center-back showed his strength winning several aerial duels.<\/p>\n

Gideon Mensah \u2013 5.5<\/strong><\/p>\n

Lost concentration on the Mali goal and was also sloppy on several occasions. He found it difficult to contain the threat from Mali\u2019s right wing.<\/p>\n

Salis Samed \u2013 6.5<\/strong><\/p>\n

His assist for the Nuamah goal was pure quality. However, his decision-making wasn\u2019t great for most of the game. Lost possession a number of times in the middle of the park.<\/p>\n

Thomas Partey \u2013 7<\/strong><\/p>\n

Partey was ever-present in the middle of the park as he always showed for the ball. He created good opportunities for Ghana with his accurate passes but should have scored the last-minute chance.<\/p>\n

Mohammed Kudus \u2013 6<\/strong><\/p>\n

He had a few bright moments but was a passenger for majority of the game. He managed to create a few goalscoring opportunities and on another day should have been on the scoresheet.<\/p>\n

Ernest Nuamah \u2013 6.5<\/strong><\/p>\n

He scored a lovely header to draw Ghana level but looked uncomfortable playing narrow. He got on the ball a lot more in the first half but faded away in the second especially after scoring.<\/p>\n

Antoine Semenyo \u2013 6<\/strong><\/p>\n

He worked hard running the channels but could have been more prolific. None of his efforts hit the target and should have connected properly with Lamptey\u2019s cross.<\/p>\n

Substitutes<\/strong><\/p>\n

Elisha Owusu \u2013 5<\/strong><\/p>\n

He didn\u2019t look up to speed in the 18 minutes he played and picked up the game\u2019s only yellow card.<\/p>\n

Jordan Ayew \u2013 7<\/strong><\/p>\n

In his 11 minutes on the pitch, the Crystal Palace forward created one big chance and scored the winner.<\/p>\n

Abdul Mumin \u2013 6<\/strong><\/p>\n

He kept things simple after coming and slotted in seamlessly for Alidu Seidu.<\/p>\n

\nFatawu Issahaku \u2013 N\/A<\/strong><\/p>\n
