Savelugu\u00a0(N\/R), June 16, GNA \u2013 Northshore Apparel GH LTD, a garment manufacturing company based at\u00a0Savelugu\u00a0in the Northern Region, has achieved a major international milestone after obtaining certification from the globally\u00a0recognised\u00a0Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production (WRAP).\u00a0<\/p>\n

The certification positioned the company among ethical and export-ready apparel manufacturers worldwide.\u00a0<\/p>\n

This was contained in a statement issued by Mr Mohammed Nurideen,\u00a0the\u00a0Chief Executive Officer of Northshore Apparel GH LTD, and copied to the Ghana News Agency in Tamale on Monday.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The statement said the WRAP Certificate No. 140034 was valid from June 12,\u00a02026,\u00a0to June 12,\u00a02027,\u00a0and was awarded following a rigorous independent audit of the company\u2019s operations covering fabric receiving, cutting, sewing, finishing, pressing, packing, quality control and dispatch activities at its\u00a0Savelugu\u00a0facility.\u00a0<\/p>\n

It said the certification affirmed that the company complied with internationally accepted standards for ethical manufacturing, workplace safety, labour rights, environmental responsibility and responsible business conduct.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The\u00a0WRAP is\u00a0recognised\u00a0as the world\u2019s largest independent certification programme dedicated to ethical and socially responsible manufacturing in the apparel,\u00a0footwear\u00a0and sewn products sectors.\u00a0<\/p>\n

It evaluates facilities against 12 key principles including lawful and humane labour practices, prohibition of child and forced labour, freedom of association, fair compensation, workplace health and safety, responsible working hours, environmental compliance, customs regulations and ethical business practices.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The statement described the certification as a significant accomplishment for the company and Ghana\u2019s industrial sector.\u00a0<\/p>\n

It said,\u00a0\u201cThis certification is\u00a0an\u00a0independent\u00a0confirmation of what our people deliver every day. It tells the world that garments made in\u00a0Savelugu\u00a0are made responsibly, made ethically, and made to compete anywhere on earth.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

It said the certification would strengthen the company\u2019s credibility among international buyers, sourcing firms, development partners and institutions seeking responsible manufacturing partners and ethically compliant supply chains.\u00a0<\/p>\n

It said the achievement demonstrated that world-class apparel manufacturing could be successfully undertaken in northern Ghana while maintaining international standards of quality, worker welfare and environmental stewardship.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The statement said the development also had significant implications for employment generation in northern Ghana\u00a0with the\u00a0capacity to employ up to 10,000 workers,\u00a0adding the company was expected to become one of the region\u2019s largest industrial employer creating opportunities for youth, women and persons with disabilities including members of the deaf community.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The company\u2019s operations were expected to contribute to increased export earnings, local economic growth and round-the-clock productivity while supporting Ghana\u2019s broader industrial transformation objectives.\u00a0<\/p>\n
