\nThe Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario (FSRA) granted the licence, establishing deVere Canada in Toronto\u2019s financial district and marking the group\u2019s formal entry into one of North America\u2019s most internationally connected business centres.
\nThe expansion responds to a structural shift taking place across global wealth management. Regional Director James Green says traditional single-jurisdiction advisory models are struggling to serve clients who now live, work, invest and retire across multiple countries at the same time. High-net-worth migration is accelerating, he noted, as individuals increasingly relocate assets, businesses and legal residency across borders, creating growing complexity around taxation, retirement planning, protection and estate structuring.
\nToronto was a deliberate anchor point. The city serves as Canada\u2019s dominant banking and capital markets hub, while the Greater Toronto Area generates approximately one-fifth of the country\u2019s total economic output. Green cited Canada\u2019s political stability, legal framework and international connectivity as factors making it increasingly attractive to globally mobile wealth at a time of rising geopolitical and economic uncertainty.
\n\u201cToronto is a natural location for our continued international expansion,\u201d said Brent Weaver, Chief Commercial Officer of deVere Canada.
\nThe Toronto operation will begin with a focus on insurance and protection planning while supporting broader international wealth structuring for clients holding assets, pensions and financial obligations across multiple jurisdictions. Josh Taylor, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of deVere Canada, confirmed the Ontario licence is the first provincial approval, with further expansion planned across Canada through the rest of 2026 and into 2027. Recruitment is already underway as the company scales its Ontario presence.
\ndeVere Group currently manages more than $14 billion under advisement through an international network spanning Europe, the Middle East, Asia, Africa and the Americas.
