Ghanaian Dance artist and choreographer, Incredible Zigi has called for the creation of categories in the Ghana Music Awards to honour dancers.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

Micheal Amofa popularly known as Incredible Zigi in an interview with TV3 said it is high time dancers are recognised in Ghana just as musicians on such a big platform like the Telecel Ghana Music Awards.<\/p>\n

According to him, dancers contribute immensely to the groundbreaking hits of most songs in Ghana mainly due to their dance challenges with songs.<\/p>\n

Incredible Zigi<\/p>\n

The nominations, he said will go a long way to encourage and motivate young ones who have dancing talents and want to make a profession out of it.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe all know dancing and music goes hand-in-hand the only gap is that music is getting a wider recognition than dance and that is why we are always fighting to get at least a nomination at TGMA.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt will help and inspire us and let all the young dancers coming up know that dance can actually take them far. I\u2019m pleading with Telecel Ghana Music Awards on behalf of all Ghanaian dance creatives who are pushing hard, we need a recognition too so please the nominations,\u201d Zigi said.<\/p>\n

The list of nominees for the various categories for the Telecel Ghana Music Awards have been unveiled during a launch of the 25th anniversary of the awards scheme.<\/p>\n\n

The main event will take place on June 1, 2024. However, some artistes following the release of the nominations have questioned why their songs failed nominations for some categories they had filed for and expected to be nominated.<\/p>\n

Amerado and Olive The Boy are amongst the artiste who have petitioned the board of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards over the non-nomination of their songs.<\/p>\n
