Dr. Gideon Boako, Tano North\u2019s Member of Parliament, has announced plans to sponsor eye surgery for 35 constituents identified during a recent screening exercise. <\/p>\n

The initiative is part of his commitment to improving eye health in the constituency.<\/p>\n

Phase 1 of the programme, carried out yesterday across Bomaa, Yamfo, and Adrobaa, screened residents for eye conditions.<\/p>\n

Dr. Boako revealed that around 35 persons were found to require surgical intervention.<\/p>\n

These individuals are currently being processed for fully sponsored surgeries at the Sunyani Teaching Hospital and the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.<\/p>\n

The initiative ensures that financial constraints do not prevent constituents from accessing critical eye care.<\/p>\n

One of the most urgent cases involved a young girl from Atudrobesa who has lost sight in both eyes following an accident with a football.<\/p>\n

Dr. Boako is making special arrangements to ensure she receives treatment from specialists at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.<\/p>\n

Dr. Boako thanked the Sunyani Teaching Hospital, Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, and the Himalayan Cataract Project for their invaluable support.<\/p>\n

He reiterated that more phases of the programme would follow to reach additional communities in Tano North.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
