South Korean coaching guru Lim Hung-se officially launched the West Africa Mission Football Academy (WAMFA) in Accra last week, unveiling an ambitious blueprint designed to transform raw Ghanaian talent into world-class stars \u2014 and build a club capable of rising all the way to the Ghana Premier League.
\nThis is not just another academy. It is a long-term football project with serious structure, serious backing and serious intent.
\nPartnering with the Christian missionary organisation West Africa Mission, Coach Lim and his team have mapped out a clear pathway: develop young players the right way and establish Hoolala FC as a competitive force, starting in Division Two and climbing steadily through the ranks.<\/p>\n

Hoolala FC will begin its journey in the third tier of Ghana\u2019s football pyramid, but the vision stretches far beyond that. The goal is progression through Division One and, ultimately, a seat at the Premier League table.
\nIt is a bold and calculated move built on experience and ambition. Coach Lim brings over 40 years of football development expertise across South Korea, South Africa and South Sudan.
\nHe has helped mould some of Korea\u2019s finest football exports, including national team coach Hong Myung-bo, Kim Joo-sung, women\u2019s national team boss Shin Sang-woo and World Cup star Ha Seok-ju.
\nNow, he believes Ghana offers the next frontier.
\n\u201cI have seen the future of world football in the eyes of Ghanaian children playing in empty lots,\u201d Lim declared at the launch held at Mission International School, Community 25.
\n\u201cMy mission, alongside WAMFA and Hoolala FC, is to turn that raw talent into world-class excellence.\u201d

\nThe ambition was underlined in a symbolic sod-cutting ceremony led by Rev. David Choi, Rev. John Choi and Coach Lim \u2014 marking the start of construction on a modern sports complex.
\nPlans include natural grass pitches, AstroTurf surfaces, a futsal arena and residential accommodation \u2014 a full-scale development hub tailored for players aged 10 and above.
\nThis is about creating an environment where talent is not just discovered, but systematically developed.
\nDriving the project\u2019s football operations is Capt. Andy Sam (retd), former CEO of AshantiGold and now Deputy CEO of WAMFA.
\nA respected academy administrator, he previously spearheaded the Ghana arm of Aspire Football Dreams, overseeing the scouting of more than 200,000 youngsters nationwide for Qatar\u2019s elite Aspire Academy.
\nThe academy also benefits from backing by the Hoolala chicken franchise, known for supporting youth initiatives across parts of Africa.
\nFor Coach Lim, however, the dream goes beyond producing technically gifted footballers.
\n\u201cThe youth trained here will stand at the pinnacle of the world stage,\u201d he said confidently. \u201cWe will groom warriors on the pitch and honest, disciplined leaders off it.\u201d
\nThe project has already attracted endorsement from Otto Addo, who praised the academy\u2019s commitment to structured talent development and credible career pathways for young players.
\nGhana\u2019s Ambassador to South Korea, Kojo Choi, also expressed pride that the long-envisioned initiative had finally materialised.<\/p>\n
