Chiaky Otuteye, a medical doctor and professional model, has sued Cloudz Entertainment, organisers of Miss Intercontinental Ghana, after her title was withdrawn weeks after she was crowned.<\/p>\n

The case is expected to be heard on Tuesday, February 23, 2026.<\/p>\n

In an interview with Kwame Dadzie on Joy FM\u2019s Showbiz A-Z, Chiaky opened up about how her title was taken away even after she won the Miss Intercontinental Ghana pageant on November 8, 2025.<\/p>\n

She narrated that her title was later given to another person for what was described by the organisers as \u201cunforeseen circumstances\u201d.<\/p>\n

According to her, one evening the Vice President of Cloudz Entertainment called and asked her to attend an emergency meeting with her mother.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey emphasised that when I am coming I should bring my crown and sash. That was when I got fully suspicious because they said it was an official meeting. Initially I was suspicious but then I felt there would be something fishy.\u201d<\/p>\n

Chiaky said at the meeting she was given a sheet of paper that had email correspondence between the organisers and their international partners.<\/p>\n

\u201cApparently, the international organisation was saying that they had received some emails from some concerned people that I did not meet their standards for the international pageant. And based on this they had made a decision to disqualify me,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

She said when she asked which standards she did not meet, they showed her a page from a document that mentioned poise, beauty, charm, intelligence and body.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith all these things they were very subjective. The only objective ones were that they said one should be a natural born female which I am, you should also be fully a Ghanaian national. I am fully Ghanaian. I also met the body requirements,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

According to her, prior to the said meeting, she had been trolled on social media after a video of her, which was taken by the event\u2019s official blogger, had been posted.<\/p>\n

She said these were comments that mocked her personal looks, with many commenters using brutish and unsavoury remarks about her.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, in an official press statement, the organisers announced that Chiaky would not be representing Ghana at the 53rd Miss Intercontinental pageant scheduled to take place from January 14 to 31, 2026 in Egypt. They stated that \u201cdue to unforeseen circumstances, as a result, we have made a difficult decision to appoint a new Queen as our representative to represent Ghana.\u201d<\/p>\n

The statement added that the new queen would be preparing \u201ctirelessly to represent Ghana with pride and dignity\u201d and expressed confidence that she would make the nation proud on the international stage. The organisers also said they appreciated the public\u2019s understanding and support and would provide updates on the preparations and participation of the new queen in the competition.<\/p>\n

The organisers are yet to respond directly to the allegations made by Chiaky on Showbiz A-Z.<\/p>\n
