An Accra Circuit Court has remanded eleven persons into police custody for alleged involvement in land guard activities at\u00a0Akokofoto, Dansoman, Accra.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The accused are Kamal Yussif alias Biker,\u00a0Asafoatse\u00a0Abass Seidu, Jacob Lartey alias Lartey Kwei,\u00a0Adoku\u00a0Samuel alias\u00a0Asafoatse, Mohammed Issah alias Galadima, Emmanuel Nii Acquah alias\u00a0Asafoatse, Iddrisu Akaya Chum, John\u00a0Afade, Teiko Ofori and Emmanuel\u00a0Gyemfi\u00a0Nkrumah.\u00a0<\/p>\n

They have been charged with conspiracy to commit a crime, engaging in land guard activities and resisting arrest.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The prosecution told the court that the accused resisted arrest, during which Kamal Yussif allegedly punched Chief Inspector Isaac\u00a0Mbilla\u00a0on the mouth, injuring his teeth.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The accused pleaded not guilty and are expected to reappear before the court on February 28, 2026.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Defence\u00a0counsel prayed for bail, but the prosecution, led by Chief Inspector Jonas Lawer, opposed the application, citing ongoing investigations.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Prosecution said the complainants, Madam Sarah\u00a0Forkuo, Managing Director of\u00a0Osamanpa\u00a0Estate Developers, and\u00a0Mr\u00a0John Agyepong, both of East Legon, had secured a Supreme Court judgement placing the disputed land in their possession.\u00a0<\/p>\n

It said on February 16, 2026, the accused allegedly invaded the land with sticks,\u00a0cutlasses\u00a0and guns, preventing the complainants and their workers from developing the property.\u00a0<\/p>\n

A distress call was made to the Police Headquarters, and officers dispatched to the scene arrested the accused, who resisted but were eventually overpowered and taken to the Regional Police Headquarters for further investigations.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
