Black Stars team doctor, Prince Pambo, has travelled to France to personally check on two injured members of the squad, Francis Abu and Mohammed Salisu, reinforcing both medical oversight and team solidarity as Ghana fine-tune preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
\nLast Wednesday, Dr Pambo met Abu in Toulouse, where the 25-year-old midfielder is recovering from the fractured leg he sustained during Ghana\u2019s international friendly against Japan in Nagoya last November.
\nAbu has been in rehabilitation for three months and is making steady progress. He is currently undertaking structured gym-based drills and is working towards a return to individual field sessions before rejoining full group training.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The visit allowed Dr Pambo to directly assess his recovery trajectory and fitness levels, which is a crucial step in determining his readiness ahead of the World Cup.
\nAbu made his senior debut for Ghana against Uganda in March 2024 and has since featured in six international matches. Before his injury, he was steadily carving out a role for himself within the squad.
\nSalisu recovering
\nEarlier in the week, Dr Pambo was in Monaco to visit central defender Mohammed Salisu, who is rehabilitating from an Anterior Cruciate Ligament injury suffered in January during a French Ligue 1 clash against Olympique Lyon.
\nSalisu has been a key figure in Ghana\u2019s World Cup qualification campaign, featuring in seven qualifiers and scoring twice as the Black Stars secured their ticket to Canada, Mexico and the United States.
\nBefore his setback, the former Southampton defender had established himself as a regular starter at AS Monaco, stepping in impressively for Eric Dier and Soungoutou Magassa.
\nHis commanding displays added stability and composure to the backline, underlining his growing importance at club level.
\nSalisu made his Ghana debut on September 23, 2022, coming on as a second-half substitute in a 3-0 friendly defeat to Brazil. He scored his first international goal in a 2-0 friendly win over Switzerland on November 17, 2022.
