Swansea City co-owner Snoop Dogg will attend one of the Championship club\u2019s games for the first time when they face Preston North End on Tuesday, 24 February (19:45 GMT).<\/p>\n

The American rapper\u00a0became an investor at Swansea last July\u00a0and said last month that he wants to help the Welsh side become a \u201cglobal name\u201d.<\/p>\n

Snoop Dogg will now make his long-awaited first appearance at a Swansea fixture when Vitor Matos\u2019 team host Preston.<\/p>\n

\u201cFrom the moment we talked about me becoming an owner, I have been looking forward to the chance to be with you all at the Swansea.com Stadium,\u201d Snoop Dogg told the club\u2019s website.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have heard so many great things about the atmosphere, especially when we play under the lights.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I watched the Wrexham game [on television in December], where we showed we are the capital of Welsh football, the noise in the stadium sounded incredible even from over 5,000 miles away. I can\u2019t wait to be a part of it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Swansea say Snoop Dogg will appear pitchside prior to the Preston game \u00a3to lead supporters in a pre-match fan display\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn addition to watching the Swans in action, the 21-time Grammy nominee and four-time Emmy award winner will also take the opportunity to visit areas of our local community to meet supporters and experience life in our city and region,\u201d the club added.<\/p>\n

Snoop Dogg, 54, is in Europe for the Winter Olympics that finish on 22 February.<\/p>\n

He is with Team USA at the Games, which are taking place in Italy, as a hype man and \u2018honorary coach\u2019.<\/p>\n

Snoop Dogg had been expected to visit at some stage this season after he followed\u00a0Real Madrid legend Luka Modric\u00a0by becoming a co-owner of the club.<\/p>\n

They have since been joined by a third celebrity investor, with billionaire American businesswoman Martha Stewart \u2013 who is a friend of Snoop Dogg \u2013\u00a0coming on board in December.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe want to take Swansea to the Premier League, and to do that we are going to need money \u2013 that\u2019s the reality of the game these days,\u201d\u00a0Snoop Dogg said in January.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want to introduce sponsorship deals and publicity that will make them a global name.\u201d<\/p>\n

Snoop Dogg will follow his son,\u00a0Cordell Broadus, who was in the directors\u2019 box\u00a0for Swansea\u2019s draw with Watford last August.<\/p>\n

The Swans\u2019 owners, led by American duo Brett Cravatt and Jason Cohen, believe bringing in high-profile names at the boardroom level will help increase the club\u2019s profile and, in turn, boost income.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
