Abdul Karim Zito has resigned from his position as head coach of Asante Kotoko with immediate effect, the club has confirmed.
\nThe decision was announced via the club\u2019s official social media channels on Monday, where Kotoko stated that Zito had stepped down from his role and that management had accepted his resignation.
\nThe club thanked the coach for his service and said details regarding its new technical direction would be communicated in due course.<\/p>\n

Zito\u2019s departure ends weeks of speculation over his future following Kotoko\u2019s elimination from the MTN FA Cup at the Round of 16 stage last weekend.
\nThe Porcupine Warriors were knocked out on penalties by Aduana FC at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, a result that intensified pressure on the technical team.
\nEarlier on Monday, club officials had indicated that no final decision had been taken on Zito\u2019s position, although they acknowledged dissatisfaction with the team\u2019s performances this season.
\nBy resigning, Zito effectively pre-empted a possible dismissal. His contract reportedly required either a one-month notice period or a compensation payment of GH\u00a2120,000 in the event of termination.
\nZito was appointed head coach in July 2025 after a successful interim spell, during which he led Kotoko to FA Cup triumph and qualification for the CAF Confederation Cup.
