The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has been plunged into mourning following the tragic death of one of its students, Mr Ransford Amankwah Asomani, a second-year student enrolled in the BSc Agribusiness Management programme.<\/p>\n

In a statement issued on Monday, February 9, the university said Mr Asomani fell from the second floor of an off-campus hostel in Ayeduase in the early hours of Sunday, February 8, 2026.<\/p>\n

Colleagues rushed him immediately to the KNUST Hospital, with assistance from the KNUST District Police Patrol Team. Despite these efforts, he was sadly pronounced dead on arrival.<\/p>\n

The University has confirmed that Mr Asomani\u2019s parents have been informed, and his body remains at the hospital mortuary pending an autopsy to determine the precise cause of death.<\/p>\n

KNUST management expressed deep sorrow over the incident and extended heartfelt condolences to the family of the late student as well as to the wider university community, describing the event as a grievous loss.<\/p>\n

In response, the KNUST Police, working alongside the university\u2019s security services, have launched an official investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fall. The University has assured the public and media that updates will be provided as soon as the full facts are established.<\/p>\n

KNUST reiterated its firm commitment to the safety, security, and well-being of all students and staff, underscoring the importance of creating a safe academic environment.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
