Ghana has withdrawn its petition demanding a probe into the alleged unlawful involvement of an unlicensed individual in GoldBod Ghana\u2019s operations. <\/p>\n<p>The group stated that the matter is now before the courts.<\/p>\n<p>In a letter dated 8th January 2026, addressed to the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) and the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), the citizens formally retracted their earlier allegations against Mr Roger Frimpong Kwakye and his company, Goldstrom.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDue to recent information of the court matters raised in our petition, we wish to withdraw the Petition made against it,\u201d the group wrote, effectively halting their request for an investigative probe into potential abuses within the state gold trading system.<\/p>\n<p>The initial petition, filed earlier, had raised \u201cgrave concerns\u201d that Mr Kwakye\u2014who is reportedly under active OSP investigation for matters relating to \u201cfinancial loss to the State\u201d\u2014was playing a central role in critical GoldBod activities. <\/p>\n<p>The petitioners argued that this was a clear violation, as Goldstrom is not a licensed entity under the GoldBod
