The Adabraka District Court has adjourned the case involving the murder of Immigration officer Stephen King Amoah to February 25, 2026, pending advice from the Attorney-General\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n

The Prosecution, led by Chief Inspector Apeweh Achana, told the court that the police were awaiting the Attorney-General\u2019s advice on the case docket and would follow up at the Office.<\/p>\n

The Prosecution, therefore, prayed for a date.<\/p>\n

The Court accordingly adjourned the matter to February 25, 2026, and remanded the suspects, Bright Aweh, also known as Highest Bright, and Thomas Zigah, into lawful custody.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, relatives of the deceased continue to throng the court in anticipation of the Attorney-General\u2019s advice, committal proceedings and the commencement of trial.<\/p>\n

Aweh, the key suspect, and Zigah, said to be his accomplice, are alleged to have played various roles in the murder of Amoah, a personnel of the Ghana Immigration Service, at Ashongman Estates in Accra.<\/p>\n

They have been jointly charged with conspiracy to murder and murder, and the court has reserved their pleas.<\/p>\n

Amoah went missing in July 2025 after leaving home to meet Aweh at Ashongman Estates. His burnt body was later found in a drain near Abom Junction.<\/p>\n

Police investigations linked the meeting to a financial dispute between the two men, following a WhatsApp exchange that reportedly included images of cash.<\/p>\n

Aweh reportedly claimed he gave Amoah GH\u00a2500,000 to settle a debt and return the balance, but inconsistencies in his account led to his arrest.<\/p>\n

A search at Aweh\u2019s residence allegedly led to the retrieval of items, including a camouflage outfit with suspected bloodstains and a wooden pestle wrapped in polythene.<\/p>\n

As a result, an initial charge of kidnapping against Aweh was dropped, and he was held in connection with the murder. Further investigations led to Zigah\u2019s arrest.<\/p>\n

Police are still on a manhunt for a third suspected accomplice.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
