Residents of Kumasi can expect the long-abandoned Krofrom Market project to be completed and operational by the end of 2026, according to the government.<\/p>\n

The project, initiated in 2007, has been stalled for over a decade, becoming a concern for traders and residents.<\/p>\n

Chief Executive of Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), Richard Ofori Agyemang Boadi, has shared an update on the government\u2019s efforts to fulfil its promise.<\/p>\n

In an interview with Barima Kofi Dawson on Nhyira FM\u2019s \u201cKro Yi Mu Nsem\u201d, he revealed that a procurement alert has been received, with the budget seeing an increase.<\/p>\n

He also noted that a legal tangle with the consultant is being ironed out, paving the way for the project to move forward.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have received a procurement alert, and the budget has been increased,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The Mayor expressed optimism about the project\u2019s progress.<\/p>\n

On the Kejetia Phase II project, Mr Agyemang Boadi attributed the stalled project to the government\u2019s indebtedness.<\/p>\n

According to him, he is pushing for the fund release by March 2026 to resume work, aiming for timely completion and benefits for Kumasi residents.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe government owes the contractor, and I hope that by March I will get money for the project to continue,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
