The inaugural session of Political Consultations between Ghana and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan has been held in Accra, marking a significant step towards strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.<\/p>\n

The consultations, which took place on Monday, January 26, 2026, provided a platform for both sides to explore enhanced cooperation across key areas of mutual interest, including diplomacy, trade and investment, defence, health, education, agriculture, peace and security, as well as people-to-people exchanges.<\/p>\n

\"Ghana,<\/figure>\n

Following the consultations, the Additional Foreign Secretary of Pakistan and leader of the Pakistani delegation, Ambassador Hamid Asghar Khan, paid a courtesy call on Ghana\u2019s Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, James Gyakye Quayson, MP, to brief him on the outcomes of the discussions.<\/p>\n

Mr Quayson welcomed Ambassador Khan and his delegation and expressed optimism that sustained dialogue between the two countries would translate into tangible benefits for the peoples of Ghana and Pakistan.<\/p>\n

Ambassador Khan, on his part, reaffirmed Pakistan\u2019s commitment to implementing the outcomes of the consultations for the mutual benefit of both nations. <\/p>\n

He further disclosed that discussions were at an advanced stage towards finalising a visa waiver arrangement for holders of Diplomatic and Official Passports.<\/p>\n

He also announced that Pakistan is planning a trade mission to Ghana in the near future, aimed at strengthening private sector engagement between the two countries and promoting economic growth.<\/p>\n

Both sides expressed confidence that the deepening cooperation would usher in a new phase of Ghana\u2013Pakistan relations, anchored on mutual respect, shared interests, and sustainable partnerships.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
