Former Majority Leader and Suame Member of Parliament Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu has emphasised that political contests are won through preparation and clear messaging, not by making the loudest noise.<\/p>\n

Speaking on Asempa FM\u2019s\u00a0Ekosii Sen<\/em>\u00a0show, Mr Mensah-Bonsu expressed surprise at the 37 percent secured by former Trade and Industry Minister Alan Kyerematen in a previous contest. He attributed that performance to Kyerematen\u2019s established influence and networks within the system.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe 37 percent Ken got really surprised me. He harvested from the content he had built in the system, and the way he pulled out, with his people following him,\u201d he said, noting that such support may not be easily replicated this time, even with prominent figures backing him.<\/p>\n

According to the former majority leader, the key to success in political contests is careful preparation and the strength of the message being carried.<\/p>\n

\u201cMost of the time, the team that makes the most noise does not win. It is the team that has really prepared that wins,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n

Mr Mensah-Bonsu stressed that Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia\u2019s campaign message is resonating strongly with the electorate, particularly at the grassroots level.<\/p>\n

He recounted a recent campaign engagement in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region, where Dr Bawumia\u2019s speech reportedly moved several attendees to tears.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter we finished speaking, an elderly man sitting a few seats away from me was visibly moved. I also saw another person wiping away tears. When I asked the elderly man what had happened, he told me Dr Bawumia\u2019s speech had made him cry,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The former MP said such reactions reinforce his belief that Dr Bawumia\u2019s message is connecting deeply with the people, and he is confident that the Vice President will improve on his 2023 performance in the Ashanti Region. He projected support could rise from 63 per cent to around 70 per cent.<\/p>\n

Mr Mensah-Bonsu also highlighted the campaign\u2019s meticulous grassroots strategy, noting that the team has been assessing performance constituency by constituency and polling station by polling station.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have been with him across the country. They are doing assessments constituency by constituency, polling station by polling station. They have already toured all the regions twice,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

He concluded that with consistent messaging and thorough preparation, Dr Bawumia stands a strong chance of emerging victorious in the upcoming contest.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
