A 12-year-old boy is receiving medical treatment after reportedly being attacked by his mother at Adeemera Electoral Area in the Afram Plains North District of the Eastern region. <\/p>\n

The suspect, identified as 38-year-old Mavis Vinyo, a matron at St. Mary\u2019s Vocational Institute in Donkorkrom, allegedly became angry when her son picked up her mobile phone to play music while she was cooking.<\/p>\n

In the incident, the woman is said to have struck the boy on the head with a cutlass, causing serious injuries. The child was rushed to Donkorkrom Presbyterian Hospital by a security officer who was on duty at the time.<\/p>\n

Authorities have since been alerted to the case, and Ms Vinyo has been arrested. Police are expected to arraign her in court in the coming days.<\/p>\n

The motive for the attack appears linked to the dispute over the mobile phone, and investigations are ongoing to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
