Firefighters have successfully brought under control a fire outbreak involving three shops at Madina Zongo Junction in Accra, following a coordinated response by the Ghana National Fire Service.<\/p>\n

A major fire outbreak has engulfed parts of the Madina Market in Accra, prompting an emergency response from the GNFS as crews worked to bring the situation under control.<\/p>\n

According to an update on Facebook by the GNFS, the incident occurred on Wednesday, 21 January 2026, affecting shops located on the ground floor of a one-storey commercial building. <\/p>\n

An emergency distress call was received at 4:41 p.m., prompting the immediate dispatch of a fire crew from the Madina Fire Station, which arrived at the scene within two minutes, at 4:43 p.m. Firefighters from the Legon Fire Station later joined the operation to reinforce containment efforts.<\/p>\n

The fire was brought under control by 5:00 p.m. and fully extinguished at 5:25 p.m. No injuries or fatalities were recorded, and all occupants in the vicinity were reported safe. <\/p>\n
