Minister for Finance, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, has commended the exceptional leadership and performance of the Chief Executive Officer of Goldbod, Sammy Gyamfi, noting that the scale of progress achieved within a single year would ordinarily take at least five years under normal public-sector timelines.<\/p>\n

Explaining the thinking behind the creation of Goldbod and the choice of its leadership, Dr. Forson said he had to first confront inflation and address key structural challenges facing the economy.<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cI had to tackle inflation. I had to tackle the structural issues, like how do I build reserves to make sure the currency stabilises. <\/p>\n

\u201cThen I introduced Goldbod. It\u2019s been a brainchild for a very long time. I designed it and had to find someone strong enough to lead it,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The Finance Minister explained that Mr. Gyamfi stood out because of his energy, determination, and capacity to deliver results.<\/p>\n

\u201cSammy Gyamfi had always come to mind. The President chose him, and he\u2019s a young man with drive. It\u2019s difficult to get people with that kind of energy, determination and spirit. <\/p>\n

\u201cYou have to study people to know who can do the work, and we believed he was the right person,\u201d Dr. Forson added.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Highlighting the pace of reforms under Mr. Gyamfi\u2019s leadership, Dr. Forson said the achievements recorded within a short period were exceptional.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo be honest, the kind of work he\u2019s done in the last few months would normally take somebody five years to do. And I salute him,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Dr. Forson noted that the reforms at Goldbod have led to improved operational efficiency, stronger systems, enhanced financial discipline, and renewed public confidence in the institution.<\/p>\n

He further stated that the performance of Goldbod demonstrates how focused leadership, accountability and urgency can significantly shorten timelines without compromising governance standards. <\/p>\n

The Minister reaffirmed the government\u2019s commitment to supporting institutions and leaders who deliver measurable outcomes, uphold transparency, and ensure value for money in the management of public resources.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
