President John Dramani Mahama has directed the Minister for Finance to release $78 million to Justmoh Construction Company to clear outstanding debts for work done on the Agona\u2013Nkwanta Road project since 2024.<\/p>\n

The payment is expected to enable the contractor to fully resume work on the critical Western Region road corridor.<\/p>\n

The directive follows earlier government action to clear more than $70 million in arrears owed to the contractor working on the Ofankor\u2013Nsawam Road, a move aimed at accelerating the completion of that project.<\/p>\n

The President said the payments form part of a broader commitment to ensure continuity of infrastructure projects inherited from the previous administration.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs I promised, we will continue all road projects we inherited from the previous government,\u201d President Mahama said.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll contractors who were working before we came into office on projects awarded by the previous government, I have asked them to continue, and we are paying them so they can continue the work.\u201d<\/p>\n

Briefing the President during an inspection tour of the Agona\u2013Nkwanta Road project, Governs Kwame Agbodza announced that contractors working on stalled road projects would be back on site by the first quarter of next year, following parliamentary approval of the Debt Restructuring Agreement.<\/p>\n

He said the agreement would pave the way for the resumption of suspended projects, including the PTC Interchange in Takoradi.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
