Quaye, the first team from the Trade Fair Fire Station arrived within minutes to find a fully developed fire, a release from the Ghana National Fire Service said.<\/p>\n<p>The situation was precarious; in slum-like settlements like Abafum, wooden structures often serve as kindling, allowing fires to leap from one roof to another in seconds.<\/p>\n<p>The initial response was bolstered by two heavy-duty engines from the Military Fire Unit and the Parliament Fire Station.<\/p>\n<p>The strategic deployment was a textbook example of \u201cproactive coordination\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>As the firefighters laid their hoses, the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) moved swiftly to \u201cisolate power from the area\u201d. <\/p>\n<p>This was a critical safety manoeuvre, as sagging, live electrical wires in such high-density zones pose a lethal electrocution risk to both first responders and fleeing residents.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, officers from the Ghana Police Service cordoned off the scene, managing a crowd of onlookers to allow the fire crews to work without obstruction.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cWhile four (4) single rooms and their contents were damaged, several adjoining residential buildings were successfully salvaged,\u201d the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) reported.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The most remarkable outcome of the night was the final headcount: zero casualties. <\/p>\n<p>In a year where Ghana has seen a 33% rise in fire-related injuries, the efficiency of the Abafum response stands as a major victory for the GNFS.<\/p>\n<p>The GNFS leadership issued high commendations to Lima Wun, the supporting officers, and partner agencies for their
