Aspiring New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Dr Bryan Acheampong, says internal profiling by his campaign shows he is far ahead in the race for the party\u2019s presidential slot, despite public opinion polls suggesting otherwise.<\/p>\n

Speaking on PM Express on Tuesday, the former Abetifi MP said his team has profiled almost all eligible delegates ahead of the January 31, 2026, NPP presidential primary. <\/p>\n

\u201cWe are doing military precision profiling, and we\u2019ve profiled 190,000 delegates out of the 209,000,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

When asked what that exercise showed, he was emphatic. \u201cWe are miles ahead,\u201d he said. He repeated the claim. \u201cWe have profiled 190,000 delegates, and I\u2019m way, way, way, way ahead.\u201d<\/p>\n

Pressed to explain what that meant in numbers, he said, \u201cI think I\u2019m close to 50% and the second person is around about half of what I am profiling.\u201d<\/p>\n

The assertion sharply contrasts with findings by Global InfoAnalytics, which in October placed him at 5 per cent, behind Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and Kennedy Agyapong. <\/p>\n

Dr Acheampong openly questioned the credibility and motive behind that poll. \u201cFirst of all, what is Global InfoAnalytics\u2019 interest in this poll?\u201d he asked.<\/p>\n

When it was put to him that Global InfoAnalytics is a polling agency, he pushed further. \u201cWho pays them?\u201d he asked. \u201cI know what I know, but I\u2019m saying\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n

As the exchange continued, he raised concerns about the polls\u2019 consistency and methodology. \u201cSomebody must have an interest such that you do a nationwide poll and you give me 5%,\u201d he said. \u201cNo, come on.\u201d<\/p>\n

The former Agric Minister criticised the sample size used by the pollsters. \u201cThere are 209,000 delegates,\u201d he said. \u201cHe says that he\u2019s profiled 3,000.\u201d <\/p>\n

He broke it down further. \u201cIt means he pulled 12 people out of 700 and then passes a judgment that of the 700, I will get 5%.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dr Acheampong also pointed to what he described as shifting trends in the same pollster\u2019s reports. <\/p>\n

He said, \u201cIn May, Dr Bawumia was polling 77% according to the same organisation.\u201d He continued, \u201cJune, 77%, July, 70, August 55, September 52, October 47, November 42.\u201d <\/p>\n

He argued that the trend suggested a steady decline. He added, \u201cBy December, let\u2019s say it comes to 35. In January, it comes to about 25.\u201d<\/p>\n

He said what stood out to him most was the size of the undecided vote. \u201cFrom his own report, not to critique the report, he says that the undecided is huge, 30%,\u201d he said. He questioned how that was possible. <\/p>\n

\u201cTwo candidates are in the race. The delegates have not changed. They voted for either Kennedy or Bawumia. All of a sudden, they are undecided.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dr Acheampong claimed the situation was being influenced by fear. \u201cSo there\u2019s a lot of intimidation going on,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n

\u201cSo people don\u2019t want to tell you that you vote for Brian, because others are intimidating them.\u201d<\/p>\n

When asked to name those involved, he declined. \u201cLet\u2019s keep it there,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

He remained confident about the outcome of the contest. \u201cThe elections of January 31, 2026, will not change the results,\u201d he said. \u201cI\u2019ll win. Nothing will change it.\u201d<\/p>\n

He said his comments were meant to prepare the public. \u201cI\u2019m saying that so that you are not surprised when I win,\u201d he said. He returned to his internal data.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve been in contact with 200,000 of the 209,000 people we profiled, 190,000 people.\u201d He concluded, \u201cNothing will change.\u201d<\/p>\n

The NPP presidential primary is scheduled for January 31, 2026, and is expected to determine the party\u2019s flagbearer ahead of the 2028 general elections.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
