Ace Nigerian producer and music executive Michael Collins Ajereh, popularly known as Don Jazzy, has said Afrobeats is still \u201ca baby\u201d when compared with other global genres despite its successes.<\/p>\n

He noted that Afrobeats practitioners are still learning, stressing that the music industry is dynamic.<\/p>\n

Don Jazzy also highlighted how the cost of Nigerian music promotion has skyrocketed over the years.<\/p>\n

The Mavin boss stated that he remains ever open to learning from others who have excelled in areas he has yet to explore in the music industry and beyond.<\/p>\n

In a lengthy post on X, Jazzy wrote, \u201cThis, our beloved Afrobeats, is still a baby genre in the grand scheme of things. We are all still learning every day, as the game is ever-changing. If you told me just 6 years ago that an afrobeats video could cost over 20m Naira, I would say ahh that\u2019s way too much o. <\/p>\n

\u201cBut behold, some of us have shot videos over 100k dollars. If Burna tells me what it takes to do multiple international stadium shows, I will take notes cos I never run am before. If Dangote tells me what it costs to build a refinery in Lagos, I will learn from him. <\/p>\n

\u201cThat said, my people, if I tell you how to run a successful record label in Nigeria, I will advise you to take notes even if na small note cos we no plenty wey don run am.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
