The Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy, and Religious Affairs, Ahmed Ibrahim, has declared Zoomlion Ghana Limited and its parent, Jospong Group, an indispensable partner to the nation, stating that modern governance and environmental health are inseparable from the Group\u2019s work.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs a nation, we cannot discuss environmental sanitation, waste management, public health, the green economy, or modern local governance without acknowledging the remarkable contribution of the Jospong Group,\u201d Mr Ibrahim stated emphatically.<\/p>\n

He detailed the extent of the partnership, revealing that \u201cthrough Zoomlion Ghana Limited and its sister companies, Jospong has become an indispensable partner to the 261 Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies.\u201d<\/p>\n

The collaboration, he said, spans critical services from solid waste collection and recycling to landfill management, fumigation, and the deployment of green technologies.<\/p>\n

He explained that the company\u2019s resilience was a testament to its impact, noting, \u201cIt is not accidental that the Group has survived three different political administrations.\u201d<\/p>\n

He elaborated, \u201cWhen greatness is before you and when the work is impactful, you cannot ignore it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Highlighting direct benefits to citizens, Mr Ibrahim credited Zoomlion\u2019s initiatives for ensuring \u201ccleaner water bodies, safer environments, healthier communities, and thousands of jobs for young people across Ghana.\u201d<\/p>\n

Furthermore, he placed Zoomlion\u2019s rise in a historic pantheon of Ghanaian influence, declaring it \u201cAfrica\u2019s third great movement.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe first wave was Dr Kwame Nkrumah\u2019s liberation efforts across the continent. The second was when the Ghanaian Black Stars conquered African football, and the third wave is Zoomlion\u2019s expansion across Africa, which has become another historic symbol of Ghana\u2019s global influence,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

He also highlighted the company\u2019s unmatched continental footprint, posing a rhetorical question: \u201cTell me, which other Ghanaian company commands a presence in 25 African countries? None.\u201d<\/p>\n

He described this achievement as \u201chistorical, inspirational, and a testament to the fact that Ghanaian excellence, when guided by discipline, vision, and ethical principles, can stand tall anywhere in the world.\u201d<\/p>\n

He concluded by reaffirming the government\u2019s commitment to deepening this essential partnership, cementing the company\u2019s central role in Ghana\u2019s present and future development.<\/p>\n

In a welcome address, the Executive Chairman of the Jospong Group, Dr Siaw Agyepong, attributed the group\u2019s remarkable growth from a single printing press to a multinational industrial leader to divine providence and consistent national support.<\/p>\n

He reflected on the group\u2019s evolution, stating, \u201cThus far has the Lord helped us.\u201d
He detailed the scale of their flagship environmental arm, Zoomlion, revealing it now operates \u201c36 functional plants spanning solid waste, liquid waste, and medical waste treatment,\u201d making Ghana a \u201ccentre of industrial excellence on the African continent.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Group\u2019s footprint, which began at the Jospong Printing Press in Jamestown in 1995, he stated, now extends across \u201cmore than 25 African countries, including Kenya, Nigeria, Uganda, Ethiopia, Tanzania, The Gambia, and Gabon, etc.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dr. Siaw Agyepong indicated that \u201cTruly, this is the doing of the Lord, and it is marvelous in our eyes.\u201d<\/p>\n

Acknowledging pivotal governmental support, he paid glorious tribute to late President Jerry John Rawlings, who visited Zoomlion facilities \u201ceven on his birthday\u201d; the late President Prof. John Evans Fiifi Atta Mills, former Presidents John Agyekum Kufuor and Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.<\/p>\n

He recalled the early days of meeting the then-president ( Kufuor), noting, \u201cI was frightened.\u201d<\/p>\n

He also expressed profound gratitude to President John Dramani Mahama and First Lady Lordina Mahama for their immense support for his group.<\/p>\n

Dr. Siaw Agyepong noted that the company\u2019s success was not merely a result of strategy but a \u201cmanifestation of divine covenant, revelation, and mystery,\u201d framing the group\u2019s story as a national testimony of what is possible with vision and enablement.<\/p>\n
