The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has reported that two people have died, while 13 others have sustained injuries following a head-on collision on the Anyinam\u2013Enyiresi stretch of the Accra\u2013Kumasi Highway on Thursday, 4th December.<\/p>\n

According to the GNFS, the Anyinam Fire Station received a distress call at 09:21 hours and dispatched a six-member rescue team, led by LFM Awuku Samuel, arriving at the scene at 09:36 hours.<\/p>\n

The collision involved a Toyota Hiace (AS-4191-25), travelling from Nkawkaw towards Accra, and a Honda Pilot (AS-8086-14). <\/p>\n

Both vehicles were found wrecked in the middle of the road. The driver of the Honda Pilot and a female passenger were trapped in the mangled vehicle. <\/p>\n

Firefighters worked to extricate them and rushed them to the Enyiresi Government Hospital, where they were pronounced dead on arrival.<\/p>\n

Thirteen additional victims, 12 males and one female, had already been conveyed to the same hospital by bystanders before the emergency team reached the scene.<\/p>\n

Eyewitness accounts suggest the Toyota Hiace attempted a dangerous overtaking manoeuvre, lost control, and veered into the path of the oncoming Honda Pilot, resulting in the fatal impact.<\/p>\n

The GNFS rescue crew subsequently cleared the debris and restored the flow of traffic.<\/p>\n
