The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) has praised the organisers of the Africa Basketball Festival (ABF) as the multi-country event unveiled its 2025 edition at the University of Ghana Basketball Court in Legon.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the launch on 19 November, the GTA\u2019s Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Gilbert Abeiku Aggrey Santana, commended RITE Sports Services for what he described as five years of \u201cconsistent innovation\u201d that has elevated Ghana\u2019s profile in sports tourism. He announced that the Authority will host an Accra city tour for all visiting teams when they arrive for the festival in December.<\/p>\n

Marking its fifth anniversary, this year\u2019s ABF adopts a \u201cFive Theme\u201d, featuring five countries, five fashion brands, and five musical performances. The 2025 edition will also be the longest yet, running five days, from 10\u201314 December.<\/p>\n

Santana said the festival had become \u201ca vibrant showcase of culture, sport and creative expression,\u201d adding that the GTA would deploy its full resources to support the organisers. The planned guided tour, he noted, would introduce international players and officials to Ghana\u2019s cultural landmarks and heritage sites, reinforcing the country\u2019s ambitions to expand its sports-tourism footprint.<\/p>\n

The launch event drew enthusiastic response from partners, fans and performers, setting the tone for what organisers say will be the most expansive ABF programme to date. Activities will culminate at the University of Ghana\u2019s basketball court, which will host games, fashion showcases and live performances.<\/p>\n

The 2025 festival is supported by a wide range of sponsors including Glico General Insurance, GTS Drilling, Indomie, GTV Sports+, Points Africa, Warrior King Watches, Lamborghini Energy Drink, The Luckiest, Minimie Atsomo, Lush Hair, Verna Water, the Ghana Basketball Association, Nkonkonsa.com, Awuah Sports, Sporty FM, Nescaf\u00e9 and the Ghana Tourism Authority.<\/p>\n

ABF 2025 is organised by RITE Sports Services and hosted by the University of Ghana Sports & Wellness Directorate.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
