entirely if \u200cit fails to comply with Russian law, news \u200cagencies reported.<\/p>\n<p>In August, Russia began limiting some calls on WhatsApp, owned by Meta Platforms, and on Telegram, accusing \u2060the foreign-owned \u200cplatforms of refusing to share information with law enforcement in fraud \u200dand terrorism cases.<\/p>\n<p>On Friday, the Roskomnadzor watchdog again accused WhatsApp of failing to comply with \u200bRussian requirements designed to prevent and combat \u200ccrime.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf the messaging service continues to fail to meet the demands of Russian legislation, it will be completely blocked,\u201d Interfax news agency quoted it \u2060as saying.<\/p>\n<p>WhatsApp has accused Moscow \u200bof trying to block \u200bmillions of Russians from accessing secure communication.<\/p>\n<p>Russian authorities are pushing a state-\u200dbacked rival \u2060app called MAX, which critics claim could be used to track users. \u2060State media have
