The emotional tensions many divorcees face when considering love again became the central focus of a recent episode of Joy Prime<\/em> TV\u2019s relationship show \u2018Let\u2019s Talk\u2019. <\/p>\n

The discussion was triggered by the heartfelt message of a 46 year old man who said he longs for companionship but remains afraid of reliving the pain of his previous marriage.<\/p>\n

The man, divorced for six years, described a daily struggle with loneliness. \u201cThe loneliness bites me so deep sometimes,\u201d he wrote. <\/p>\n

\u201cThe silence in my room, the empty side of the bed\u2026 as much as I crave for love again, I\u2019m scared, truly scared.\u201d He recounted the wounds left by his former marriage, including \u201cthe arguments, the betrayal, the disappointment, the feeling that I wasn\u2019t enough to love somebody so much.\u201d<\/p>\n

Counsellor Perfect, Reverend Daniel Anan and Auntie Patricia Poku agreed that the man\u2019s fears reflect a common challenge among people recovering from divorce.<\/p>\n

They explained that his fear signals that he may not yet be ready for a new commitment and stressed the need for complete healing. Patricia Poku urged the man to reflect on his own role in the failed marriage. She said he should \u201chighlight what is it that he was able to contribute to this relationship.\u201d She likened marriage to a boxing ring, saying partners often end up \u201cfighting the ghosts of their past,\u201d and recommended counselling to address unresolved childhood triggers.<\/p>\n

Counsellor Perfect noted that marriage carries risks, including divorce, and highlighted the \u201cdisillusionment\u201d phase where old traumas rise to the surface. She warned that entering a new relationship without healing can lead to a \u201crebound relationship\u201d that may harm the next partner.<\/p>\n

Reverend Daniel Anan outlined a healing path that starts with spiritual and mental grounding. He said fear \u201cstems from the point of naivity\u201d and that overcoming it requires knowing yourself, understanding women and appreciating what marriage truly is.<\/p>\n

The panel also discussed a growing trend, often seen on social media, where divorced people seek companionship without the formal commitment of marriage. Counsellor Perfect explained that companionship \u201cdoesn\u2019t come with the total commitments,\u201d while marriage carries spiritual, legal and full obligations, making it more difficult to walk away from.<\/p>\n

Reverend Anan closed the segment by reminding viewers that marriage, created by God, is \u201cone of the best things God ever created,\u201d and encouraged men not to fear commitment.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
