An Accra Circuit Court has remanded a 42-year-old trader, Joshua\u00a0Agbey, for allegedly stealing three mobile phones and a tracker valued at GH\u00a238,500.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Agbey\u00a0is accused of stealing a black backpack\u00a0containing\u00a0an iPhone 16 Pro Max (GH\u00a221,000), a Samsung A55 (GH\u00a28,500), Samsung A54 (GH\u00a27,500), and a tracker (GH\u00a21,500), belonging to Aneesh Kumar\u00a0Adukkadukkan, an Indian national.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The incident occurred during a reception\u00a0organised\u00a0by the Indian Community in Ghana at the WAEC compound in Cantonments on September 21, 2025.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The prosecution, led by Chief Inspector Benson\u00a0Benneh, told the court that the complainant, an accounts manager, had placed the backpack on a table during the event but later discovered it\u00a0missing.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Police officers initially tracked the items to Kwame Nkrumah Circle without success, but the tracker eventually led them to\u00a0Kasoa\u00a0Amanfrom, where\u00a0Agbey\u00a0was arrested.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The court heard that\u00a0Agbey\u00a0admitted sneaking into the\u00a0programme\u00a0and stealing the backpack. He has pleaded not guilty to the charge of stealing.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Presided over by Kwabena Kodua Obiri-Yeboah, the court ordered the prosecution to file and serve processes on the accused\u2019s counsel.\u00a0Agbey\u00a0is expected to reappear on November 19, 2025.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Due to ongoing investigations, the prosecution said further details would be provided in\u00a0subsequent\u00a0proceedings.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
