Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has unveiled a nationwide programme aimed at turning Ghana into a physically active society, anchored on wellness, recreation and preventive health.<\/p>\n

Delivering the announcement at the SWAG 50th Anniversary Awards, he said: \u201cActive living is now a national culture.\u201d<\/p>\n

The initiative\u2014known as the National Recreation and Wellness Programme\u2014will introduce monthly district-level activities designed to promote fitness, health education, and community recreation.<\/p>\n

According to the Minister, \u201cIts goal is simple: to make active living a national culture.\u201d<\/p>\n

He explained that the programme aligns with the President\u2019s directive to leverage sport as a public health tool. \u201cThis programme, when launched, will become a core part of Ghana\u2019s preventive health strategy,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The Minister also confirmed that the Sports College Bill will soon be tabled before Parliament. \u201cWe need more trained coaches, sports scientists and therapists. The Sports College Bill will ensure we produce them at scale,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n

Kofi Adams ended by urging national participation: \u201cGhana must embrace movement. It is time to live healthier, longer, stronger lives together.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
