The nationwide recruitment exercise for the police, immigration, prisons and other security agencies has been postponed from Saturday, November\u202f15, to Monday, November\u202f17, the Minister for the Interior, Muntaka\u202fMubarak, announced on Friday, November\u202f14.<\/p>\n

The security agencies specifically under Ghana\u2019s Ministry of the Interior include the Ghana Police Service, Ghana Prisons Service, Ghana National Fire Service, and Ghana Immigration Service. Other agencies that operate under the Ministry include the Narcotics Control Commission, the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), and the Gaming Commission of Ghana.<\/p>\n

This announcement comes in the wake of the tragic stampede at the El\u2011Wak Stadium in Accra during a recruitment exercise for the Ghana Armed Forces, which led to six deaths and several critical injuries.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe advertisement indicated that application forms would be available on November\u202f15,\u202f2025. However, in light of the unfortunate incident that occurred on Wednesday during the Armed Forces recruitment process, the Ministry of the Interior, in consultation with Security Chiefs, has decided to postpone the start date of applications from November\u202f15 to Monday, November\u202f17,\u202f2025, as a mark of respect to the bereaved families and those who were injured,\u201d Mr\u202fMubarak said.<\/p>\n

He added that the updated recruitment schedule will be published in national dailies, on the Ministry\u2019s website and on its social\u2011media platforms.<\/p>\n

Mr\u202fMubarak also elaborated on how applicants can participate via the new digital system. Vouchers can be purchased either at any branch of GCB Bank nationwide or via a USSD code from home.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere are two major channels to purchase application vouchers. From any GCB Bank Branch Nationwide. From the comfort of your home via USSD dial code. The details of the web address and the USSD short code details will be in the publication. The system we are deploying is a robust centralised e\u2011Recruitment Portal \u2026 an initiative implemented to ensure harmonisation and standardisation of the conduct of recruitment across the various agencies under the Ministry of the Interior,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The adoption of the e\u2011recruitment portal and the postponement underscore efforts to prevent a repeat of the El\u2011Wak tragedy. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
