Yaw Asante, Commercial Solar Project Development Manager for Translight Solar Limited, has urged households and businesses across Ghana to adopt solar energy solutions to reduce electricity costs and improve power reliability.<\/p>\n

Speaking on the sidelines at the launch of Ghana Digital and Innovation Week 2025 at the Accra International Conference Centre, Asante highlighted the potential of solar systems to significantly lower electricity bills while providing environmentally friendly energy.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur main aim is to ensure that nobody in Ghana goes without the benefit of the joy of solar in their homes,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Asante described the current electricity challenges for both residential and commercial users, noting that many businesses still face high ECG bills despite improvements in power supply. He explained that installing a properly designed solar system can reduce electricity bills by up to 60 per cent.<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cIt\u2019s difficult to understand why anybody with a commercial property would not want to install solar. With a solar system installed from Translight, your advantages are a lot,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

He also highlighted remote monitoring technology that allows users to track their solar and battery systems from anywhere in the world via their smartphones. <\/p>\n

This ensures that system performance can be verified in real-time without physical inspection.<\/p>\n

Translight Solar Limited is part of a growing sector of renewable energy companies in Ghana, promoting affordable, reliable, and sustainable energy solutions. <\/p>\n

The push for solar adoption comes amid broader national efforts to improve energy efficiency, reduce reliance on the national grid, and expand renewable energy capacity.<\/p>\n

The comments were made during Digital and Innovation Week 2025, a government-led initiative bringing together innovators, startups, tech companies, and policymakers to explore solutions for Ghana\u2019s economic and technological transformation.<\/p>\n

Beyond the keynote speeches and policy announcements, the launch hall was full of entrepreneurial energy as startups, tech companies, and digital solution providers set up exhibition booths to market their products and services. Visitors moved between stalls showcasing innovations ranging from fintech platforms and e-learning tools to renewable energy solutions and AI-powered business applications. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
