Two\u00a0alleged robbery suspects have been arrested by\u00a0the Criminal Investigations Department (CID)\u00a0after a violent car hijacking at\u00a0Mpatasie, near Saint Anthony Hospital in the Ashanti Region.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Police sources mentioned the two suspects as Issaka Jamal, 30,\u00a0and Kwadwo Badu, 40.\u00a0<\/p>\n

On\u00a0November 7, 2025, the CID Headquarters intercepted information from\u00a0Bohyen\u00a0District\u00a0about\u00a0a robbery and carjacking incident that occurred the same day at\u00a0Mpatasie, near St. Anthony Hospital.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Upon receiving the report, the Unit Command\u00a0immediately\u00a0activated its intelligence operations and gathered that the suspects had escaped from Kumasi and were heading\u00a0towards\u00a0Accra in the complainant\u2019s unregistered Hyundai Tucson vehicle.\u00a0<\/p>\n

On November\u202f8, 2025, the\u00a0police\u00a0said a team from the Unit, while conducting further enquiries, spotted the said vehicle with about four occupants along the\u00a0Ofankor\u00a0Barrier\u2013St. John\u2019s stretch on the Accra\u2013Nsawam Highway.\u202f\u00a0<\/p>\n

The team swiftly intercepted the vehicle, where\u00a0the occupants could be\u00a0suspects.\u00a0<\/p>\n

However, sensing danger, the source said the suspects\u00a0attempted\u00a0to flee with the car.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cRealising\u00a0they had been surrounded, they abandoned the vehicle and tried to escape on foot,\u201d\u00a0the police said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThe team pursued and arrested Jamal\u00a0and Badu, during which one sustained a gunshot wound and the other sustained minor injuries.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The source said two accomplices\u00a0of the suspect\u00a0managed to escape.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Jamal and Badu were rushed to the Police Hospital, where they are said to be in stable condition.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Police Personnel have retrieved the unregistered Hyundai Tucson, together with the following\u00a0exhibits:\u00a0a customised\u00a0number plate which read \u201cCongo-1-24,\u201d a cash\u00a0sum of\u00a0GH\u20b55,900 and various documents and personal effects.\u00a0<\/p>\n
