The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has signed a new broadcast agreement that will see SuperSport and Canal+ deliver extensive coverage of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Morocco 2025 across the continent.<\/p>\n

The event, attended by CAF President Dr Patrice Motsepe, representatives from COSAFA and SAFA, executives from SuperSport and Canal+, as well as several African football legends including Salomon Kalou, Amanda Dlamini and Kalusha Bwalya, marks a significant milestone in African football broadcasting.<\/p>\n

The agreement positions SuperSport and Canal+ as the first broadcast group to air the tournament across French, English and Portuguese-speaking territories, while also expanding accessibility through African indigenous languages.<\/p>\n

It forms part of the broader merger between MultiChoice and Canal+, bringing together their combined reach of more than 40 African countries and over 40 million subscribers across the continent.<\/p>\n

Canal+ announced that its MultiChoice subsidiary, SuperSport, had secured broadcast rights of the AFCON for English and Portuguese-speaking African countries. <\/p>\n

Speaking at the announcement, Canal+ Africa CEO David Mignot said the partnership represents a continued commitment to elevating African football broadcasting.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is an extension of a long and productive partnership with CAF,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cFootball is a unifying language across Africa, and this collaboration will ensure fans in every corner of the continent experience AFCON 2025 with unmatched access, expert analysis and high-quality coverage.\u201d<\/p>\n

Expanding on this vision, Mignot added: \u201cOur newly-formed merger with the MultiChoice Group has already unlocked opportunities and benefits for our customers. And this year\u2019s TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025 is a great demonstration of the power and potential of this common ambition: bringing together our expertise to offer unprecedented coverage.<\/p>\n

\u201cMoreover, broadcasting this competition in different languages is a strong way to build closeness with our viewers. For all these reasons, our subscribers will be part of the most spectacular celebration of African football.\u201d<\/p>\n

SuperSport\u2019s leadership also highlighted the broadcaster\u2019s longstanding investment in African football, confirming that the 2025 edition will feature dedicated channels and localised content tailored to diverse audiences.<\/p>\n

Rendani Ramovha, Director of Sport Content English and Portuguese-speaking Africa for MultiChoice (a CANAL+ company), said: \u201cWe are especially proud to be able to bring the story of the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025, live to all our viewers in English and Portuguese-speaking Sub-Saharan African territories.<\/p>\n

\u201cSuperSport has been the preferred choice for millions of passionate fans across the continent, and this tournament won\u2019t be different, as we will have a dedicated SuperSport AFCON channel.<\/p>\n

CAF President Dr Patrice Motsepe welcomed the agreement, emphasising its significance within CAF\u2019s long-term strategy to grow the commercial value and global visibility of African football.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe AFCON in Morocco will showcase world-class football, as good as the best anywhere in the world,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis partnership supports our vision to make African football commercially sustainable, to invest in our youth, and to unite the continent. We are in a golden era. African football is growing, and the world is watching.\u201d<\/p>\n

Motsepe added: \u201cThis is an exciting day for CAF and for African football. When the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations takes place in Morocco in December, Africans everywhere \u2014 on the continent and across the diaspora \u2014 will be watching with pride. Millions will follow the games on television, celebrating the best that African football has to offer.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn Ivory Coast, the last AFCON attracted approximately 1.5 billion viewers globally. We anticipate that this edition will be an even greater success, reaching new audiences and inspiring the world once again. When 180 nations express interest in broadcasting AFCON, it is proof that the world is excited about African football.\u201d<\/p>\n

Viewers will be able to follow SuperSport\u2019s coverage of AFCON Morocco 2025 on DStv and GOtv, while Canal+ subscribers will enjoy the action on Canal+ Sport and on-demand via the Canal+ app.<\/p>\n

In Nigeria and surrounding regions, matches will be available in English or Pidgin, while Swahili commentary will be offered in East African countries such as Tanzania, Kenya, and Uganda.<\/p>\n

Fans in Angola, South Africa, and Mozambique will enjoy Portuguese commentary, while South African audiences can also access commentary in isiZulu and Setswana alongside English.<\/p>\n

Canal+ and SuperSport\u2019s coverage will feature stellar line-ups of star analysts, commentators, presenters, and African football legends who will bring their unique insights into the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025.<\/p>\n

Hundreds of millions of viewers are expected to watch their favourite African heroes in action, including Victor Osimhen (Nigeria), Mohamed Salah (Egypt), Sadio Man\u00e9 (Senegal), Ronwen Williams (South Africa), Riyad Mahrez (Algeria), and Achraf Hakimi (Morocco).<\/p>\n
