Real Madrid winger Vinicius Jr has apologised to supporters for his reaction to being substituted in Sunday\u2019s fiery El Cl\u00e1sico win against Barcelona.<\/p>\n

The Brazilian was taken off in the 72nd minute and expressed his frustration by going straight down the tunnel.<\/p>\n

Vinicius later returned to the bench and, after his side\u2019s 2-1 win, tried to confront Barcelona\u2019s Lamine Yamal during\u00a0unsavoury post-match scenes.<\/p>\n

\u201cToday I want to apologise to all the Madridistas for my reaction when I was substituted in the Cl\u00e1sico,\u201d he posted on X.<\/p>\n

\u201cJust as I have already done in person during today\u2019s training, I also want to apologise again to my team-mates, the club, and the president.<\/p>\n

\u201cSometimes passion gets the better of me because I always want to win and help my team. My competitive character stems from the love I feel for this club and everything it represents.\u201d<\/p>\n

Vinicius\u00a0joined Real from Flamengo\u00a0in 2018 for \u00a338.7m and has scored 111 goals in 335 appearances.<\/p>\n

But his future in the Spanish capital is far from certain with reports in recent months stating that Real would consider letting the 25-year-old leave if they were to receive a suitable offer.<\/p>\n

When Vinicius was substituted on Sunday, cameras from broadcaster Dazn picked him up saying: \u201cAlways me! I\u2019m leaving the team! It\u2019s better if I leave, I\u2019m leaving.\u201d<\/p>\n

In his latest statement on X, Vinicius said: \u201cI promise to keep fighting every second for the good of Real Madrid, as I have done since the first day.\u201d<\/p>\n

Vinicius\u2019 statement did not directly mention Real Madrid manager Xabi Alonso, amid\u00a0reports\u00a0,\u00a0externalthe pair have fallen out.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
