The Bekwai Circuit Court, presided over by His Honour Mr Appiatu, convicted and sentenced three armed robbers who launched a violent attack on travellers along the Jacobu\u2013Anwiankwanta highway to 20 years\u2019 imprisonment.<\/p>\n

The trio \u2014 Peter Boadi, also known as Kwao Ziggy, Daniel Kwaku Owusu, and Eric Kwaku Danso are to serve the 20 years each. <\/p>\n

According to the prosecution, on Monday, October 27, after finding them guilty of conspiracy to commit robbery and robbery.<\/p>\n

The incident occurred at Fiankoma, near Jacobu, on 29th April 2024, where the culprits robbed their victims of two iPhones and GH\u20b57,000 in cash. <\/p>\n

They also compelled one of the victims, a Chinese national, to transfer GH\u20b530,000 via mobile money to an accomplice\u2019s account.<\/p>\n

Following months of intelligence-led operations, police apprehended the suspects between June and September 2024. A subsequent search of Boadi\u2019s residence at Obuasi Bogobiri led to the discovery of a foreign-made Bruni pistol, a locally manufactured firearm, and ammunition, all of which were presented as evidence in court.<\/p>\n

The Ghana Police Service has commended its officers for their diligent work and reaffirmed its resolve to ensure that criminals are brought to justice in accordance with the law.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
