Coventry City manager Frank Lampard has praised Black Stars forward Brandon Thomas-Asante after the striker opened the scoring in their 3\u20131 win over Watford on Saturday. Thomas-Asante got the Sky Blues off to a flying start with a glancing header inside three minutes, his ninth goal of the season, as Coventry secured another three points in the Championship.<\/p>\n

Lampard said after the game that the forward\u2019s consistency and work ethic have been key to the team\u2019s recent form. <\/p>\n

\u201cYes, I\u2019m saying the same stuff week in, week out about Brandon, and it\u2019s good because he\u2019s working hard,\u201d Lampard said. <\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s got great energy and good quality. You\u2019re seeing that we work a lot on him. We talk a lot about his positioning in the box.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lampard, 47, also praised the 26-year old\u2019s movement and growing confidence in front of goal. <\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s why I loved him being between the posts, getting between defenders. He\u2019s confident, his energy is great on and off the ball. He just needs to continue. That\u2019s what top players do,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n

Thomas-Asante\u2019s goal against Watford marked his third in as many matches.<\/p>\n

Lampard said the forward\u2019s progress is a result of his dedication on the training pitch. \u201cHe\u2019s building and building and working so well with us on the training ground,\u201d he added. \u201cHe needs to continue that. He\u2019s such a big player for us now, and that\u2019s all he\u2019s doing.\u201d<\/p>\n

With Coventry climbing up the table and Thomas-Asante in red-hot form, Lampard believes the Ghanaian has the potential to reach even higher levels. <\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s got the hunger and the mentality,\u201d Lampard said. \u201cIf he keeps this up, there\u2019s no limit to how far he can go, for us and for himself.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
