The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has released a statement responding to Laryea Kingston\u2019s resignation as head coach of the Black Starlets.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Kingston announced his resignation on Saturday after the Black Starlets lost 2-1 to Burkina Faso in the U-17 WAFU Zone B Championship, stating that he had made his decision before the start of the tournament.<\/p>\n

The GFA has accepted Laryea\u2019s resignation and gave further details.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Ghana Football Association has taken note of the decision of the Head Coach of the National U17 Team, the Black Starlets, Laryea Kingston, to leave the team following his behavior after the WAFU ZONE B U17 qualifier Semifinal match against Burkina Faso on 25th May, 2024.<\/p>\n

\u201cLaryea Kingston\u2019s decision has been supported by his subsequent actions.<\/p>\n

\u201cCoach Kingston announced to the players and the coaching staff that he has resigned.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe subsequently said same in his post-match Press Conference. Coach Kingston also got off the Team Bus whilst the team was on its way to the Team Hotel.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe failed to attend the Team\u2019s evening meeting with the Management Committee and has since not reported at the Team Hotel.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe GFA duly accepts Laryea\u2019s resignation.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor the 3rd place playoff match between Ghana and Nigeria scheduled for Tuesday, May 28 2024, the current assistant coaches will take charge of the team.\u201d<\/p>\n

Laryea managed the Starlets for 18 matches and they scored over 50 goals.<\/p>\n
