Colombia striker Jhon Duran has joined Fenerbahce on a year-long loan – six months after moving from Aston Villa to Al-Nassr in a £71m deal.

The 21-year-old scored 12 goals in 29 games for Villa last season then after joining Al-Nassr in January, found the net 12 times in 18 matches for the Saudi Arabian side.

“Our club has reached an agreement with both the club and the player for Jhon Duran to join our squad on a one-year loan,” said Fenerbahce in a statement.

“We wish our player a season full of success under our striped jersey.”

Duran, who has three goals in 17 internationals for Colombia, joined Villa from Chicago Fire for £18m in January 2023.

He scored 20 goals in 78 games for the club but 61 of those appearances came from the bench, with Duran unable to regularly displace England striker Ollie Watkins from the starting line-up.

He helped Al-Nassr finish third in the Saudi Pro League last season and while he is leaving, Portugal striker Cristiano Ronaldo is staying after signing a two-year contract with the club last month.

Fenerbache, who are managed by Jose Mourinho, finished second in the Turkish league last season.

Al Qadsiah announce the signing of Ghana winger Christopher Bonsu Baah

Read Time:1 Minute, 6 Second

Saudi Pro League side Al Qadsiah have announced the signing of Ghana international Christopher Bonsu Baah, with his official unveiling expected on Wednesday, July 9, 2025.

The 20-year-old winger has penned a four-year contract that will keep him at the club until 2029, after a deal worth over €15 million from Belgian side KRC Genk.

The deal was finalised in the Netherlands where Bonsu Baah signed his contract.

Sources indicate that while the Ghanaian forward is committed to Al Qadsiah in the short term, a return to European football in the coming seasons remains a possibility, given his age and development trajectory.

Bonsu Baah’s rise has been meteoric. After trials with European giants such as Barcelona, Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund, his breakthrough came in March 2023 when he joined Norwegian top-flight outfit Sarpsborg from Ghanaian third-tier club Shooting Stars.

Just 12 matches into his stint in Norway, Belgian side Genk snapped him up, beating several European clubs to his signature.

Over two seasons with the Limburg club, he made 90 appearances in all competitions, registering five goals and seven assists.

Now widely regarded as one of Ghana’s most exciting young prospects, Bonsu Baah recently earned his first senior caps for the Black Stars in international friendlies against Nigeria and Trinidad and Tobago.

Ghanaian youngster Araphat Mohammed suffers ACL injury in Nordsjaelland friendly

Read Time:58 Second

Ghanaian youngster Araphat Mohammed is set to miss a large spell of the 2025/26 season after suffering an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury over the weekend.

Araphat came off worse during Nordsjaelland’s friendly game against AC Horsens on Saturday, June 28, as he is now expected to be on the sidelines for a very long time.

The 19-year-old came off the bench in the pre-season game and was involved in a duel in the latter part of the game, resulting in the setback.

Having been signed by Nordsjaelland after his time at Right to Dream, the midfielder enjoyed his debut campaign with the club last season, making six appearances.

His injury rules him out of the club’s pre-season camp in Austria for the upcoming season.

“We are very sorry about Araphat. He had come back well after the summer break and was well underway with the preseason, and then it’s just hard when the accident hits that way. But of course, we will do everything we can to get him back as strongly and as quickly as possible,” Nordsjaelland football director Alexander Riget said.
